Two injured in crash

Two Union Grove residents who were injured in a motorcycle crash Aug. 31 continue to recover this week at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa from their serious injuries.

According to a media release from the Racine County Sheriff’s office, officials received a call reporting an injury accident involving a motorcycle in the 17200 block of Highway C (Spring Street) in the Town of Yorkville.

Responding deputies located two victims from a single motorcycle; both had severe injuries. The motorcyclist is identified as Robert Hall, 39, and his passenger, Tanya Norton, 34.

Preliminary investigation showed the motorcycle was westbound and passing vehicles when it collided with an eastbound vehicle.

The motorcycle then struck a westbound vehicle.

Neither victim was reportedly wearing a helmet. Speed and heavy fog conditions are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. It is unknown at the time if alcohol played a role in the crash.

The county’s Accident Investigation Team as well as the State Patrol’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit processed the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
