KENNETH M. MULLIKIN

      Kenneth M. Mullikin, 84, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.

Ken was born in Rice Lake on May 11, 1938, to Manford and Mae (nee Glovka) Mullikin. His early life was spent in Rice Lake, Barron and Cumberland. He graduated from Barron High School and earned certificates in air conditioning and automotives. He served in the Army at Fort Riley in Kansas and worked in the motor pool. On Sept. 19, 1956 in Dubuque, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Beverly Buchholz. Following marriage, they made Burlington their home, where they resided until his death.

Ken worked for Quality Carriers as an over the road truck driver. He also drove school bus for 15 years with Thomas Bus Service. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, American Legion in Burlington, and Teamsters Union Local 43. He was a retired member of Town of Burlington Fire Department, Company 3 where he had served for 27 years. He enjoyed attending reunions with the people from his military unit, traveling and visiting all 50 states. He especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his entire family.

Ken is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Kevin (Lana) Mullikin, Shelly Mullikin, Tyler (Melissa) Mullikin and Peggy Mullikin; grandchildren, Branndyn (Kim) Mullikin, Megan (Matt) Kusek, Corbyn (Amanda) Mullikin, Logan Mullikin, and Eloise Mullikin; great-grandchildren, Addilyn Mullikin, Haylee Mullikin, Ayce Mullikin and Abilene Kusek; and siblings, Eugene Mullikin of New Richmond, William (Julie) Mullikin of Burlington and Bonnie (Edward) Lynott of Dixon, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Warren Mullikin, Charles Mullikin and two infant sisters.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Weber and Dr. S. Verani, along with the entire medical staff that helped Ken and his family during this time. A big thank you for all the love and support from family, friends and the community.

Memorial contributions may be made to Town of Burlington Fire Department Company 3, St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, or Aurora at Home Hospice.

Services for Ken will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from noon until 1:15 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place following the service at Burlington Cemetery.
