Burlington High School football coach Hans Block announced his resignation to his team Wednesday afternoon, winding up a process that began Monday when he gave his letter of resignation to BHS Athletic Director Eric Plitzuweit.

Block said Wednesday evening that it was time for a change for the program.

“I feel very comfortable with my decision,” he said.

Block was in his 12th year as head coach. While the Demons started this year strong with non-conference wins over Racine Case and Racine Horlick and went to 3-0 after beating Union Grove, BHS won just one more game the entire season.

The Demons finished 2-5 in the Southern Lakes Conference a year after making the WIAA playoffs for the first time since 2006.
