For the first time in a number of years, the Burlington High School football team got to celebrate homecoming with a victory.

The Demons scored three quick touchdowns Friday evening – capitalizing on their opening drive and then a pair of Elkhorn interceptions – en route to a 44-19 victory.

Senior Ty Dennis scored on a 69-yard pass on the second play from scrimmage, and then Chad Redmer scored on a 15-yard run following the first interception. Ross Canales then picked off Elkhorn quarterback Arik Anderson and returned the ball 47 yards for the score.

BHS led 22-0 before Elkhorn got on the board, and led 35-13 at the half.

In other Southern Lakes Conference action Friday night, Waterford defeated Delavan-Darien 45-22, while Union Grove lost at Badger 61-12.
