WILLIAM T. WAMPLER

      William T. “Tom” Wampler, 74, of Franksville, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at Ridgewood Care Center in Racine.

Born in Mattoon, Illinois, on March 3, 1950, he was the son of William and Margaret “Joan” (nee Brummett) Wampler. His early life was spent in Humboldt, Illinois until 6th grade, when the family moved to Toledo, Illinois. He graduated from Cumberland High School, Eastern Illinois University and University of Illinois with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has been a Franksville/Union Grove resident since 1992.

Tom retired as an engineer with Twin Disc and was a member of Yorkville United Methodist Church and Union Grove Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, building and flying remote control planes and was one of the grill masters at the pork chop dinners at the Yorkville Methodist Church. He was also a faithful volunteer at the lasagna dinners at the Masonic Lodge, of which he was a past member and Master Mason.

Tom is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Eryn) Wampler; granddaughter, Emilija; and siblings, Ed (Gail) Wampler and Joe (Susan) Wampler. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Paul and Pearl Brummett and Tom and Flo Wampler.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Grove Masonic Lodge.

Services for Tom will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from Noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
