Marcellus “Marc” S. Lois, 90, of Burlington, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at Pine Brook Pointe in Burlington.
Born in New Munster on Aug. 6, 1933, he was the son of Alvin and Francis (nee Robers) Lois. His early life was spent in New Munster and he also served in the US Army. On June 6, 1959, in Elkhorn, he was united in marriage to Mary Remer. Following marriage, they resided in Bowers and Burlington. He was a Burlington resident for 65 years.
Marc installed TV antennas and dishes and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, going to casinos and watching sports on TV. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Marc is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Sandy (Randy) Francois and Debbie (Tom) Wachholder; grandchildren, Ashley Francois, Jared Francois, Jessica Owens, Eric (Amber) Owens, Matthew (Jenny) Owens and Caitlyn Owens; great-grandchildren, Braden Bieneman, Brianna Owens, Aubree Meisner, Mason Owens, Cami Parker and Addison Knapkiewicz; sisters, Millie (Russel) Miller and MaryAnn Pirk; and half brothers and sisters, Jim (Marge) Lois, Alvin (Sandy) Lois, Glenn Lois, Arlene (Chuck) Weyrauch, Alice Ludwig, Florence Lampley, Harold (Kathy) Lois, Patricia (Ernie) Booth, Ruth (Allan) Bertelson, Claude (Barbara) Lois, Kenneth (Penni) Lois, Ron (Emily) Lois, Nancy (Galo) Shepherd, Ralph (Cindy) Lois and Dave (Liz) Lois. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Marvin Lois Sr.; brother-in-law Carl Pirk; grandson Mitchell Owens; brother-in-law Dave Ludwig; half brother Mark Lois; half sister Shirley Lois; half sister Carol Allan; and sisters-in-law Rose Lois, Patty Lois, and Jean Lois.
The family would like to thank Daniels Family Funeral Home, Gentiva Hospice and the staff of Pine Brook Pointe for their care and compassion during this time.
Services for Marc will be held on Friday, May 10 at 6 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Other relatives and friends may meet with the family from 4 until 7 p.m. Private burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Burlington.
