FRANKLYN P. ROGERS

      Franklyn P. Rogers, 81, of Lyons, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Born in Maywood, Illinois on Aug. 31, 1942, he was the son of Franklin and Gladys (nee Grogan) Rogers. On Feb. 14, 1970 in Wauconda, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Nancy Mariacher. Following marriage, they made Woodstock, Illinois, their home. He was a Burlington resident for the past 31 years.

Franklyn worked as a sheet metal worker in the HVAC industry. He served in the US Marine Corp. for seven years, US Army for five years and National Guard for ten years. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union and Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing.

Franklyn is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Melody (Ray) Rangel of Texas, Timothy Rogers and Sherrie (Peter) Puknaitis; grandchildren, Amanda, Zachary (Kylie), Nicholas (Lauren), Tyler (Krislyn), Addie, Whitman, Luke and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Alana, Shane, Jace, Aria, Steele, Harrison, Lorelai, Rayner and Tildyn; and sisters, Peggy Krotz, Carol Jackson and Sharon Nagel. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Sharon Rogers.

The family would like to thank the ICU nurses at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse for the care he received while he was there.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burlington Church of the Nazarene, 100 E. Jefferson St., Burlington, WI 53105 for Mission Trips.

Services for Franklyn will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Noon with Pastor Paul Caldwell officiating at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until Noon at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded following the service.
