DIANNE M. BOYLE

Dianne M. Boyle, 88, died on Jan. 24, 2024, after a long battle with dementia.

Dianne was born on March 5, 1935, in Burlington, to Harry and Margaret (nee Carpenter) Reynolds, the youngest of seven children. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School, she attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Milwaukee. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Dennis R. Boyle, whom she met during childhood. After the birth of their youngest child, Dianne pursued a successful 30-year career in residential real estate sales owning and operating Pine Realty.

Dianne actively volunteered in the Burlington community serving as past president of the Library Board and the Women’s Club. She enjoyed sharing her love for all things beautiful by lecturing on the masters of art at local grade schools as well as “digging in the dirt,” planting and nurturing garden landscapes. She took an early interest in the Environmental Conservation movement championed by Gaylord Nelson, volunteering her family to participate in the first “Earth Day” on April 22, 1970. Consequently, they welcomed into their home journalists from as far away as Japan who reported on their energy conservation experience.

Dianne was an avid reader and shared her lifelong love of learning and travel with her children, often combining the two, visiting historical sites and exhibits at which she enjoyed quizzing the docents to test the level of their knowledge

Dianne will be deeply missed by her children, Mark (Colleen) Boyle, Margaret Boyle (David Silber), Maureen Boyle, and Timothy (M.T.) Boyle; and by her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Denny, and her siblings Johnnie, Glory, Margie, Mary, Bob and Ruth.

The family would like to thank the incredible Memory Care staff at Oak Park Place for the wonderful care they provided to Dianne during her stay there.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to Burlington Public Library, 166 E. Jefferson St. Burlington, WI 53105 or Burlington Catholic School, 449 Conkey St., Burlington, WI 53105.
