WAYNE A. MADRO

      Wayne A. Madro, 66, of Milwaukee, peacefully passed away at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Wayne was born in Wauwatosa on March 18, 1957 to Walter and Charlotte (Yanke) Madro. He was raised in Burlington by his maternal grandmother, Pearl Yanke. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1975 and enlisted in the United States Army and also later served in the United States Navy until 1983. Wayne was proud to have served his country.

On Oct. 8, 1988, Wayne was united in marriage to Kathy Vos. They resided in Milwaukee. He attended the Milwaukee Business Training Institute (MBTI) and Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), specializing in Computer Electronic Technology and HVAC Systems. He worked as a lead electronic assembler for various companies and retired as an HVAC wire assembler for Danfoss Graham, Milwaukee.

Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. Golfing was a great part of his life. He and Kathy were members of the Wednesday Night Couples Golf League at Woodland Golf Course for many years. They liked to vacation in Door County, Lake of the Ozarks, and of course, Jamaica, which always included many rounds of golf.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Kathy; his uncle Roger Yanke, aunt Barbara (Don) Burghardt; half-brothers and sisters; sisters-in-law, Gail Vos, Deb Vos, and Terry (Joe) Harvey; brother-in-law, Scott (Jane) Vos, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wayne had a special relationship with the Ludwig family. He was often thought of as the fifth brother to Ed (Marcia) Ludwig, Mike (Jill) Ludwig, Dennis (Carrie) Ludwig, and Rick Ludwig. He was blessed with many life-long friendships.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Pearl Yanke; uncles, Charles and Robert Yanke; half-sister, Cathy Van Loon; father and mother-in-law, Rich and Betty Vos; and brother-in-law, Mike Vos.

Kathy and the family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and staff at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center who gave Wayne excellent and compassionate care, especially Dr. Kristen Corrao, Laura Tobon NP, pharmacist Karen Adwan and nurse Tamenia Harris.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society, Milwaukee Campus.

A visitation with Wayne’s family will be on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Inurnment for Wayne will take place on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 9 a.m. at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove with full Military Honors.
