RICHARD BAUMAN

      Richard “Dick” Bauman, 77, of Burlington, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington.

Dick was born in Burlington on Nov. 17, 1946 to Arthur and Eileen (nee Callahan) Bauman. He was a lifelong resident of Burlington. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. On June 7, 1969, he was united in marriage to Catherine Zahn at St. Charles Church.

Dick was a financial advisor. He began his career with Edward D. Jones, then he moved to A. G. Edwards and Sons where he was the Vice President of Investments. He also worked at Kemper Securities in Lake Geneva, and Wachovia Securities, before retiring as the Branch Manager and Vice President of Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors.

Dick was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and served on the St. Charles School Board and Athletic Committee. He coached basketball at St. Charles and also was a coach for Burlington Little League Baseball. He was an advisor of the Burlington Investment Club, and a Past President of the Burlington Lions Club. He even won the honor of Lion of the Year. Dick enjoyed golfing and gardening and attending all of his grandchildren’s’ sporting events. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; daughters, Trina (Patrick) Tully and Sarah (Christopher) Wiess; grandchildren, Zakkary (Tommi), Callahan (Kim), Grant, Cate, Jack, Carter, Chloe, and Laine; brother Jerome Bauman; in-laws, Jean Bauman, William Dykes, Edward (Kelli) Zahn, Jeffrey (Kristi) Zahn, Colleen (Darrel) Eisenhardt, Terry (Rick Grissinger) Traynor, and Charles (Tina) Swain. Dick is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Keith Bauman, sister Mary Ann Dykes, and in-laws Catherine (Charles Swain) Zahn Swain and Russell Zahn.

The family would like to suggest that any memorials made in Dick’s name, be donated to the Burlington Catholic Athletics or Burlington Lions Club.

A special thank you goes out to all the friends and family for the love and support through this difficult time, as well as to Dr. Chung, the staff of the ICU at Aurora Burlington, the 2nd floor staff, and nurses, and to Carolyn from Home Helpers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery at a later date.
