HELEN HENNING

      Helen Henning, 92, of Burlington, passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Oak Park Place in Burlington, eight days short of her 93rd Birthday Celebration.

Helen was born Dec. 12, 1928, to Albert and Anna (nee Yanny) Ebbers in Burlington. She was a lifelong resident of Burlington who graduated from St. Mary’s High School “Class of 46″. On Aug. 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lawrence H. Henning Jr. at St, Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington. Following their marriage, they resided in Burlington where she raised her family.

Helen was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, baking, and sewing. Her specialty as a seamstress was repairing the boys’ blue jeans and making pretty dresses for the girls.

Helen is survived by and will truly be missed by her children, Teri (Bill) Stoffel, Linda Wren, Larry (Becky) Henning, Dave Henning, and Steve Henning; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister Carol Wermling; sisters-in-law Lynn Henning, Betty Gilbertson and Shelia (Ervin) Hanson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law Tammy; son-in-law John “Bubba” Wren; sisters, Joan Ebbers and Dorothy (Jim) Slein; brothers, Fred (Margaret), William (Joann), and James Ebbers; brothers-in-law Richard, Ronald, and James Henning; and four nephews.

In honor of Helen, the family has suggested memorials be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Helen’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Oak Park and the staff of St. Croix Hospice for all their care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. Masks are preferred when visiting with Helen’s family.
