MARY M. WEITHAUS

      Mary M. Weithaus, 93, of East Troy, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at East Troy Manor.

Mary was born in East Troy on Sept. 30, 1925, to Lester and Margaret (nee Box) Shepard. She spent her early life on the family farm, helping with the family ice business and cleaning cottages on Lake Beulah. She attended area schools and graduated from beauty school in Milwaukee.

On July 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harold Weithaus. Following marriage, they made their home in Delavan before moving to Burlington. Mary worked as a beautician for various beauty salons in Burlington. She retired at 86 years of age. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and volunteered for their Fall Festival. She also attended The East Troy Saturday Night Ballroom, where she met her husband who was a saxophone player. She enjoyed spending time with friends and fellow beauticians and loved going on cruises and vacations. She spent time visiting nursing homes and volunteered her beautician services to those at the nursing home.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Diane Wilson; grandchildren, Tim, Michelle (Steve), Bill (Dede), Robert, and Matt (Katy); five great-grandchildren; sibling, John (Margaret) Shepard; and goddaughter, Sue Meyers. She is further survived by nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at East Troy Manor and the nurses of Allay Hospice for their care of Mary during this time.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary was held Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial followed the service in St. Charles Cemetery.
