LINDA L. COWAN

      Linda L. Cowan, 76, of Burlington, formerly of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2017, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.

She was born July 13, 1940, to the late Emil and Margaret Krahn. She graduated from Salem Central High School. On June 21, 1958, she married the love of her life David Cowan.

David and Linda farmed for a few years after getting married, and then they purchased Burlington Farmer’s Supply; which they owned for many years before retiring. Linda enjoyed traveling, reading, birdwatching, animals and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Linda will be dearly missed by her husband of 59 years, David C. Cowan, four sons, Dave Cowan Jr. of Burlington, Donald (Jeanine) Cowan of Lake Geneva, James (Suzanne) Cowan of Burlington and Jerry (Jill) Cowan of Roscoe, Ill., 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She will be further missed by her two sisters, Betty Kirchner of Union Grove, Nancy Schulz of Salem, her brother Robert (Vi) Krahn of Terre Haute, Ind., her Brothers-in-law, Bob Burnett of Salem, George (Cheryl) Cowan of Severna Park, MD, Kenneth (Barbara) Cowan of New Berlin, and Alexander (Nancy) Cowan of Burlington.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Donna Burnett, daughter-in-law Claire Cowan, and brothers-in-law, Leo Kirchner and Ken Schulz.

A celebration of Linda’s life was held June 5 at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Kenosha. Integrity Funeral Services, Waterford, served the family.

The family would like to thank Lyons Fire and Rescue, Medic Ambulance Service, and Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington ICU staff for their care and compassion. The family also offers their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Lisa Simonds who gave such amazing care over the years.
