THOMAS A. SPIEGELHOFF

Easter Lily      Thomas A. Spiegelhoff, 81, Burlington, died Aug. 31, 2016, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington .

He was born March 27, 1935, to the late Ralph and Marie (Wagner) Spiegelhoff in Burlington. He was a lifelong resident of Burlington, graduating from St. Mary’s High School and served in The National Guard.

On Memorial Day 1956 he was married Patricia Jean Humphrey. He worked at Spiegelhoff’s Grocery Store as both the owner and a butcher for many years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was involved in the Community; he served as a Rotarian, as a hospital board member, volunteered at Mt. Carmel and worked with the Browns Lake Ski Club in its very beginning. He was an avid hunter and loved training Labradors.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years; children, Cindy (Jerry) Hennen, Tim (Kendra) Spiegelhoff and Jody (Richard) Spiegelhoff-Wenzel; grandchildren, Allison, Karlie, Timothy ‘TJ’ and Jorden; great-grandson, Jacob; his golden retriever, Koda; his siblings, William (Dolly) Spiegelhoff, Mary Spiegelhoff, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at the church
