Shirley Beth Evans, 88, died peacefully on Sept. 2, 2016, at Pine Brook Pointe, Burlington. She was born Aug. 5, 1928, to the late Irwin and Mary (Carter) Bishof in Tingley, Iowa. Her early years were spent in Iowa, moving to California as a teenager.
She married the love of her life, Charles W. Evans, on Sept. 1, 1946. The couple lived in Highland Park and Azusa, Calif. She was a secretary for the school board at the Los Angeles School District. She was a hard worker, enjoyed taking care of her family, and was an avid quilter.
She loved California, but recently moved to Wisconsin to be closer to her family; spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Stephen (Jolene) Evans; grandchildren, Jonathan (Kristin) Evans, and Margaret Evans; great-grandchildren, Violet Evans and Charlotte Evans; and her sister, Alberta Smits, Sandy, Utah.
She was further preceded in death by her husband.
Interment will take place at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, Calif. Integrity Funeral Services, Waterford, is serving the family.
