ROBERT J. FROSCH

Easter Lily      Robert ‘Bob’ John Frosch, 87, died April 5, 2016, at Burlington Rehab and Care Center. He was born to the late Harold and Florence (Marsch) Frosch in Chicago on June 13, 1928.

He lived in Blue Island, Midlothian, and Riverdale, Ill. He graduated Thornton Township High School in 1946.

He served in the U.S. Navy and attended classes at University of Illinois.

He married Vera Smallman in Hammond, Ind., in 1954. They lived in Riverdale and moved to Burlington in 1966. The couple had two sons, Donald Robert and Philip William. Bob was employed 39 years by Phillips Petroleum Company in the Chicago area and retired in 1988.

He was a member of Burlington’s Masonic Lodge 28, F&AM, was a fourth-generation Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a long-time member of Cross Lutheran Church where he served on several committees. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop, playing cards and traveling with friends.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years; sons, Donald (Cara), Indianapolis, and Philip (Linda), Lakeville, Minn.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Harold (Karen), Medford; two nieces; cousins; dear friends and neighbors.

A memorial service was April 10, at Cross Lutheran Church. The Rev. Viviane Thomas-Breitfeld officiated. Burial was in Holloway, Wis. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, served the family.
