Patsy L. Hlavacek, 73, Burlington, died Jan. 9, 2016, at her residence. She was born Sept. 20, 1942, to the late Ralph and Faye (Nelson) Gluesing in Iowa. Her early life was spent in Iowa before moving to the Whitewater and Fort Atkinson area where she graduated from Fort Atkinson High School. In 1964 she moved to Burlington.
On Aug. 28, 1978, she married Gary K. Hlavacek in Burlington. Following marriage they resided in Burlington. He preceded her in death.
She retired from Foster Forbes after 30 years of service. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church. She enjoyed reading, doing word finds, collecting dolls, and loved animals, especially dogs.
Survivors include her children, Brenda (Gary) Verhagen, Kaukauna, Jeff (Sue Malecki) Firkus, Burlington, Steven (Patricia) Hlavacek, Neshkoro, Denise (Todd) McMahon, Wind Lake, Sherry (Karl) Krueger, Burlington, Corey Hlavacek, Oshkosh; grandchildren, Kevin, Paul, Dylan, Cody, Stephanie, Matt, Jason, Kirsten, Heather, Amy, Rachael, Brian, Suzanne, Ryan, Justin, Floyd, Daniel, Briana and Dylan; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dean (Bonnie) Gluesing, Eunice (Joe) Kirkman, Phyllis (Dave) Harp; sisters-in-law, Vivian (Bud) Schulz, Rhonda (Wayne) Harmon; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Jacee Elizabeth Hlavacek.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 16, at 3 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Robert Wang will officiate. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Jan. 16, from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park at a later date.
