MARION E. SULLIVAN

Easter Lily     Marion E. (Lee), Sullivan, 95, Waterford, died Nov. 1, 2016. She was born July 26, 1921, in Merrill, to the late Harold and Wilhelmina Lee. She spent her early years in Stevens Point.

Marion studied nursing at County General Hospital in Milwaukee and served as a Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps, stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines during WWII.

After the war she met and married the love of her life, James Sullivan. Education and employment took them to Colorado, Pennsylvania, and New York before returning to Wisconsin. They made their home in Waterford in 1965, and Marion lived there until her death.

Upon retiring from High Ridge Healthcare, Marion enjoyed her time as a volunteer at the Waterford Public Library and as an election inspector for the Village of Waterford. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family and reading. She particularly looked forward to Saturday lunches and shopping trips.

Survivors include her son, Michael Sullivan; daughters, Tracy (Jeff) Lehmann, Susan Sullivan and Patricia Sullivan; grandsons, James (Karen) Marienthal and Justin Heebsh; great-grandson, Trevor Marienthal, who always put a smile on Gram’s face; sister-in-law, Marilyn Lee; and nieces and nephews.

She was further preceded in death by her husband, Jim; daughter, Sandra Sullivan Schweitzer; twin brothers, Robert and Raymond Lee; sisters-in-law, Joan Lee and Joyce Lee; niece, Karen Lee; nephews, Randall Lee and Larry Vories.

Marion’s family would like to thank the Waterford Rescue Squad and Fire Department, the hospital staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, and the VA Hospital and Healthcare staff for their compassion and professional care.

At Marion’s request, no service will be held. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, served the family.
