LEO J. BRENTON

Easter Lily      Leo J. Brenton, 75, Burlington, died peacefully at his home on Aug. 2, 2016. He was born Aug. 19, 1940, to the late Melvin P. and Adeline A. (Weber) Brenton and grew up on the family farm in Brighton.

On Oct. 7, 1961, he married Agnes Marie Popp at St. Thomas Church, Waterford.

He worked for Chrysler in Kenosha where he was proud to have served as a union steward. He loved gardening and following retirement he ran a tree nursery and produce business for more than a decade. He treasured spending time at their cottage in Three Lakes. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and watching the Packers and the Badgers. As much as he loved Wisconsin, he and Agnes looked forward to their winters in Sun City West, Ariz.

Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years; children, Tammy (Dave) Mihalyi, Pamela (Tim) Klug, Leonard (Julie) Brenton; grandchildren, Neal (Erica) Koch, Noah (Courtney) Koch, Nathan Koch, Jessica Klug, Nick Mihalyi, Suzy Mihalyi, Isabelle Brenton, Jack Brenton, Adeline Brenton; great-granddaughter, Kami Koch; his sisters, Mary Karczewski, Carol (Bill) Walsh, Helen Oberhart and Nancy (James) Brand.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to either the Alzheimer’s Association or Froedtert Hospital Foundation – Clinical Cancer Center.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff with Aurora at Home Palliative Care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 5, at 4 p.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. Yamid Blanco officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Aug. 5, from 1-3:45 p.m. Burial will be private. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
