LENORE F. BOULDEN

Easter Lily      Lenore F. Boulden, 81, Burlington, died Sept. 8, 2016, at Arbor View Communities. She was born June 20, 1935, to the late William and Mildred (Kebbekus) Heck in Wind Lake, where she spent her early life and attended Waterford schools.

On March 27, 1954, she married Robert Boulden in Dubuque, Iowa, and renewed their marriage vows on May 1, 1954, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Waterford. Following marriage they resided in the Burlington and Bohners Lake area.

Throughout the years she worked at Rice’s Liquor Store and coordinated demos for food samples at grocery stores. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary #2823. She also served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader throughout the years.

Lenore enjoyed being a world traveler – all through the Mediterranean countries, Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, China, Korea, Panama Canal, and all but three islands in the Caribbean. She enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors. She loved spending time with her family, especially with the grandchildren. They meant the world to her.

Survivors include her husband; children, Rick Boulden, Randy Boulden, Barbara (Jeff) Dowty and Debra (Michael) Schmieden; grandchildren, Jake Boulden, Brad Boulden, Cathy (Greg) Hamilton, Bryce and Brett Schmieden, Charles Dowty; step-granddaughter, Mikeala Suchocki; great-grandchildren, Braedyn Boulden and Kara Hamilton; sister, Gayle Maercklein; brother, Bill (Rosie) Heck; brother-in-law, Bob Ludtke; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her stepfather, John Rezarch; sister, Judy Ludtke; and brother-in-law, Dick Maercklein.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 17, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. Yamid Blanco presiding. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is Sept. 17, from 9-10 a.m. at church. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials be made to the Dementia Society of America (DSA), Kidney Foundation or St. Charles Catholic Church.

Lenore’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Allay Hospice, staff at Arbor View and Holton Manor for all their care and compassion and to all the friends and family, especially Meri Suchocki and Windy Boulden who came to visit and spend time with her.
