LAWRENCE R. KLAWES

Easter Lily      Lawrence R. ‘Larry’ Klawes, 80, of rural Mukwonago, formerly Burlington, died peacefully on Nov. 11, 2016, at home after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Waukesha, on May 22, 1936, to the late William and Lucy (Grabow) Klawes.

He married Janet M. Schave on Oct. 15, 1955, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Janesville. Larry was employed as a truck driver for over 40 years. After retiring the big rig, he drove for Medix Ambulance and did dealer trades for several car and truck dealerships.

His other interests included raising 4-H animal projects with his grandson, his membership with the Red Power Club and his love of cub cadet tractors.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years; daughters, Lori (Darwin) Pahl, Fall River, Patti (Tom) Clarey, Burlington, and Cindy Klawes, Mukwonago; grandchildren, Bradley (Holly Molus) Klawes, Peter Jalensky, Kristina Jalensky, Ashley (Jesse Stewart) Clarey, Joseph (Jayme) Clarey; great-grandson, Brenton Klawes; sisters, Ruth Ann (Roger) O’Day, Virginia Carpenter; brothers, Dennis (Sue) Klawes, Daniel (Barb) Peplinski and Randy (Darlis) Klawes; in-laws, Karen King, Roger Schave, David Schaffe, Neale LeMense and Lucy Klawes; nieces; nephews and cousins.

He was further preceded in death by his siblings, David Klawes, Allen (Janice) Klawes, William Klawes and Bonnie Tirado; in-laws, Arlene LeMense, John King and Philip Carpenter.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 1-5 p.m., with a gathering for friends and family at the Fellowship Hall of Caldwell Methodist Church, 8504 Caldwell Road, Mukwonago. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville, is serving the family.
