JOYCE H. GIANNINI

Easter Lily      Joyce H. Giannini, 97, died Aug. 29, 2016, at St. Camillus, Wauwatosa. She was born July 6, 1919, in Spring Prairie Township to the late Harry and Florence (Ganz) Lightfield. Virtually her entire life was spent there and in Burlington where she graduated from Burlington High School in 1936.

On Jan. 24, 1940, she married Donald R. Giannini at St. Charles Catholic Church, Burlington. There they built a business, raised a family and enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt and dearly loved children and her many treasured friends.

She retired from The Nestle Company after 16 years of running their computers and working in the payroll department. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and volunteered at school. She was also active in the Little League and Cub Scouts. She and her daughter, Jan, had many years of fun, traveling around the country showing horses.

In retirement, she continued to be very active. She will be remembered for her spirit, warmth and generosity.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan (Bill) Ellis; grandchildren, Donald Giannini, Josey Giannini and Andrew (Therese) Ellis; nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was further preceded in death by her husband on June 1, 1997; son, Dennis on July 16, 2003; and sister, Ruth; sister, Ruth.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, on Friday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. Visitation for family and friends is from 9-11 a.m. on Sept. 16, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.

The family would like to thank her wonderful neighbors, friends and the caregivers from Home Helpers who enabled her to remain at home in her later years. They would also like to thank all of the staff at St. Camillus for their compassion and care this past year.
