JOAN A. MOUW

Easter Lily      Joan A. Mouw, 63, Burlington, died peacefully on Jan. 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago on Aug. 11, 1952, to the late Harold and Pearl (Wilder) Mouw. She was a Burlington resident for over 60 years and attended schools here, graduating from Burlington High School.

She worked at Nestles for 46 years and felt truly blessed to have made wonderful friends and memories with many of her coworkers. She loved her dogs as if they were her children and enjoyed going for a ride in her blue Pontiac G6 convertible, something she was very proud of. During her many years with Nestles she served as union president for many years and also as a union steward.

Survivors include her siblings, Jerry (Judy) Mouw, Dale (Karen) Bruesewitz, Thomas (Anna) Fouser, Dawn (Denny) Ketterhagen; nieces and nephews, Tim (Vickie) Mouw, Kelly Mouw, Todd (Bonnie) Bruesewitz, Scot Bruesewitz, Troy Bruesewitz, Cory (Lesley) Ketterhagen, Casey (Beth) Ketterhagen, Joelle (Jordon) Sedivy, Fawna (Rich) Shouse; great-nieces; great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Menon at Froedtert Hospital and the staff with St. Croix Hospice and Bright Star Caretakers for all their care and compassion during this time.

A Celebration of Life is Thursday, Jan. 14, from 5-9 p.m., at Veterans Terrace at Echo Park, 589 Milwaukee Ave., Burlington. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.

  1. I am very sorry for your families loss. Joan was one of my customers when I worked at Miller Motors. She was always a joy to have in the shop. I yes she loved her car very much. I am grateful for being able to meet such a wonderful person.
