Janice M. Greil, 93, Waterford, died March 5, 2016, unexpectedly at her home. She was born near Lake Denoon on Jan. 29, 1923, to the late Howard and Merle (Drought) Ellertson.
She was a graduate of Waterford High School and attended Marquette University.
On June 4, 1949, she married Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Greil at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Waterford. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife and loved to spend time in her flower garden. She enjoyed bird watching, raising white German shepherd dogs and antiquing. Her greatest joy was family; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Art ‘Butch’) Weber, Richard ‘Rick’ (Leanne) Greil, Randy Greil, Linda (Steve) Dummer; grandchildren, Jeff Weber, Judy (Dave) Knipp, Bob (Kerry) Greil, Rebecca (Jason) Rydzik, Reggie (Tiffany) Greil, Chad Greil, Devin (Georgina) Greil, Stephanie (Jordan) Street, Cody (Megan) Dummer; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her husband, and brother Harold Ellertson Sr.
A Memorial Gathering is Tuesday, March 22, 5-7 p.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 West Main St., Waterford, with a private burial in St. Thomas Cemetery on Wednesday. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Waterford.
