JAMES M. SCHMIDT

Easter Lily      James Michael ‘Jimmer’ Schmidt, 49, died July 1, 2016, due to a farm accident on his family’s farm. He was born in Burlington on Nov. 15, 1966, to William James ‘W. James’ (Jim) and Pamila Schmidt. He worked his entire life on the family farm doing what he loved to do the most, farming.

Jimmer was a 1985 graduate of Waterford High School and Twin Silo’s academy. He loved to spend time with his nephews, or some back hills road time on his Harley. Although he had no children of his own, Jimmer enjoyed spending time with his nephews Eric, Nicholas, Marcus and Tim, along with Carli and Pippin. He loved these six like they were his own.

Survivors include his parents, siblings, Tammy (Bill) Mealy, Terri Abramowski and Jon Schmidt; nephews, Eric, Nicholas (Jenny), Marcus, Tim and Zachary; great-nephews, Zaidon and Vincent; very close family member Carli and her daughter Pippin; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Stella Schmidt, and Barbara Allison, and his brother-in-law, Donny Abramowski.

Visitation is Saturday, July 9, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with services starting at 1 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the family to be distributed as per Jimmer’s wishes.
