Frank J. McCarthy, 96, Richfield, died Sept. 27, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 25, 1920, in Dover, to the late John and Margaret (Costello) McCarthy.
He married Josephine Archibald on Jan. 7, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Rocky Point Long Island, N.Y.
Frank was a proud member of the Operating Engineers for over 60 years, Richfield Fire Dept., Richfield Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his children, Kevin, Kathleen (Bob) Kemp, Maureen (Tom) Boll, Michael, Shawn (Bridget), Eileen (Tom) Harju, Colleen (Rod) Demlang; grandchildren, Susan (Dan) Shipman, Christine Kemp, Kirk Kemp, Tom, Jessica and Amanda Boll, Shawn and Brandon McCarthy, Erin and Ryan McCarthy, Josh (Elizabeth), Cody, Benjamin, and Tyler Harju, and Blake Demlang great-grandchildren, Troy Kemp and McKenzie Shipman; brother, Phillip McCarthy; brother-in-law, Dick Robers; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his wife in 2008; brother, Chuck (Lorraine); sisters, Lucille (Fritz) Degrave, Patricia Robers; sister-in-law, Colleen McCarthy; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m., at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus, with the Rev. Bob Bales officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Interment is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Richfield, on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
