BRUCE F. CZAJKOWSKI

Easter Lily      Bruce F. Czajkowski, 72, Kansasville, died April 8, 2016, at the Hospice Alliance House, Pleasant Prairie.          He was born Oct. 27, 1943, to the late Marion and Lillian (Ponick) Czajkowski in Milwaukee. In 1956, he moved to Union Grove, where he graduated from Union Grove High School in 1963.

On Sept. 12, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Judith Kaye Pfaff at St. Mary’s Church in Dover. Following their marriage, they first lived in Union Grove. Later, they moved to the town of Yorkville, and eventually to their current home on Eagle Lake in Kansasville, where they lived for the past 20 years.

In his early life Bruce worked as a meat cutter at Tip Top Foods in Union Grove, and after that he owned and operated Bruce’s Unique Windows and Doors in Caledonia.

He had many interests. He was a Corvette enthusiast and collector; his favorite was his red ‘65 convertible. He loved traveling to his timeshare condos in a variety of cities in the U.S., but his preferred one was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. During his travels he enjoyed shopping for antiques and unique treasures. Another passion of his was raising Great Danes; the latest two were Elvis and Dayna who truly became a part of the family. More than anything, he cherished his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife; children, Robin (Crystal) Czajkowski and Anne (Tony) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Amanda and Amy Czajkowski and Tim, Kim and Cory Gatzow; his uncle John Valenti; several sisters- and brothers-in-law, and other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his stepfather, James Sheen; mother- and father–in-law, Joyce and Robert Pfaff; and several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Great Dane Rescue of Wisconsin, 2540 Co Rd. MN, Cottage Grove, WI, 53527; the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org; or a charity of your choosing.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to friends and loved ones for their kindness and support throughout Bruce’s illness in the past several years, and to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially nurse Linda, for all their care and compassion.

Services are Saturday, April 16, at 3 p.m., at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home, 908 11th Ave., Union Grove, with Fr. Joe Debski officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 1-3 p.m., at the funeral home.
