Sharlene R. ‘Pixie’ Jacobs, 71, Burlington, died Nov. 1, 2015, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Burlington on Sept. 6, 1944, to the late Lesley Flemming and Ruth (Muslik) Haldeman. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1962.
On May 22, 1968, she married Thomas Jacobs at United Methodist Church in Burlington. They were married for 47 years.
Sharlene retired from Lavelle Rubber after 33 years. In 2000, they moved to Mayflower, Ark., where they lived for 13 years, moving back to Burlington in 2013. While in Arkansas she worked at Molex for 12 years. Three weeks after moving back to Burlington she was diagnosed with cancer, which she fought for the last two years. She loved to knit, crochet and watch NASCAR.
Survivors include her husband, Tom; daughter, Tina; son, Bryan; grandchildren, Robert, Dusty, Logan and Jordan; siblings, Larry (Joan) Flemming, Valerie Huggunson; half sister, Betty Arnold; brothers-in-law, Bill Jacobs and Jim Jacobs; and sister-in-law, Peggy Haas.
She was further preceded in death by her stepdad, Gail Haldeman; brother, Lynn Haldeman; and in-laws, Herb and Inez Jacobs.
Services are Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Visitation for family and friends is Nov. 4, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 2:30 p.m.
