RUTH T. LEISING

Easter Lily      Ruth T. Leising, 82, died Oct. 28, 2015. She was born June 2, 1933.

She and her husband, John, were grade school sweethearts and were married for 62 years. After heart complications, her passing occurred just 19 days after John. What a true love story.

In addition to her own family, Ruth was a devoted foster mother for many children. She also was a volunteer for East Troy Welcome Wagon and St. Peter’s Helping Hands. Her favorite hobbies were reading and sharing books in the Little Free Library in her front yard, and playing cards and games with family. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren enjoy activities on Booth Lake.

Survivors include her 14 children, Julie (Dennis) Makoutz, Millville Minn., Anne (Dave) Kocinski, Newport News Va., Tom (Marsha), Beaver Dam, Mary (Dan) Feisthammel, Oconomowoc, Mike, East Troy, Dan (Eleanor), New Berlin, Carol (Paul) Nyffeler, East Troy, Tricia (Mick) Mitten, East Troy, Barb (Tim) McCourt, Burlington, Sue (John) Lehsten, New Berlin, David (Deb), East Troy, Diana, Burlington, Beth, Milton, Nick (Jessica), Whitewater; 50 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in law, Jan and Juani; other relatives and many friends.

She was further preceded in death by her first child, Joseph John, and brothers, Eugene and Raymond Labiszak.

Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 3, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy, from 4 p.m., until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. Burial will take place at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Holy Cross Cemetery. Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, East Troy, is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Love Inc. of Burlington or Helping Hands of St. Peter’s are greatly appreciated.
