Ruth Mary Sevick, 85, Burlington, died Nov. 27, 2015 at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
She was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Chicago, to the late Rudolph E. and Signe (Runstrom) Fredrickson. She spent her early life in Crystal Lake, graduating from Senn High School in Chicago.
On March 31, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burlington, she married Donald Sevick. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington where they raised their family. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, helped out at St. Mary’s School library and their hot lunch program. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the hospital auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, reading traveling all over the United States and especially enjoyed their trips up to Door County. She could always be found enjoying a good swim at the Wellness Center.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years; children, Steve (Patty) Sevick, Donna (Jim) Lampe; grandchildren, Krista (Andrew) Gaedtke and Shannon (Jason) James; great-grandchildren, Isobel Gaedtke, Molly Claire Gaedtke and Sophie James; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her sister, Doris.
The family would like to thank the staff in the emergency room and ICU at Burlington Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation for family and friends is Friday, from 4-5:30 p.m., at Good Shepherd Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
