ROBERT F. MAURICE

Easter Lily      Robert Frank Maurice, 87, Waterford, died April 19, 2015, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Kenosha on April 10, 1928. He lived in Kansasville and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Burlington.

On June 11, 1955, he married Joan M. Sabin in Brighton. He was a dairy farmer for most of his life and upon retiring took up woodworking. He specialized in making gliders and children’s toys, which he sold at local craft fairs. He loved gardening and watching his family grow.

Survivors include his wife: children, Darleen Maurice, Doreen (Gary) Hennig; brother, Raymond (Helen) Maurice; sisters, Rita Kemen, Mae Robers; grandchildren, Jennifer Hennig, Bill Loftus, Aaron Loftus, Aimee (Mike) Harrison, Kristen Loftus, Dana (Ryan) Hubacek; two great-grandchildren; other nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Renata Placzkowski and Sister Mary Eugena; brother, Eugene Maurice; brothers-in-law, Micky Robers, Allie Kemen and Leonard Placzkowski.

Visitation is Thursday, April 23, from 4-6 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, with Mass starting at 6 p.m. Burial is Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m., at St. Thomas Cemetery, Waterford. Meet at the cemetery. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Robert’s family suggests memorials be made to Aurora VNA Hospice or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
