RITA A. DIETZEL

Easter Lily      Rita A. Dietzel, 55, Burlington, died Dec. 18, 2015, at Zilber Family Hospice. She was born in Chicago on June 19, 1960, to the late Frank and Virginia (Prybliski) Fiegel. She lived in Chicago until the family moved to Burlington in 1969.

On Aug. 8, 2009, at Cross Lutheran Church, she married Steven D. Dietzel. She worked as a secretary for the Wisconsin School for the Deaf for many years. She was a long time member of Cross Lutheran Church where she was involved in various activities, including teaching Sunday school and was a Girl Scout Leader. She loved the outdoors, especially spending time walking in the woods, enjoyed doing puzzles and loved geocaching. She was a wonderful seamstress and could sew anything. She was always up for going to a craft fair and especially loved the ones held at Camp Mclean. She enjoyed concerts and festivals and loved going to see Kenny Chesney. She could always be found chatting online with her OTE Group and her many friends. And she loved her Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include her husband; children, Duane Gietzel and Valerie Gietzel; grandson, Austin Gietzel; her aunts, Joyce (Ralph) Garland and Jean (Del) Ahearn; godmother, Carol Gerber; stepmother, Rosemary Fiegel; in-laws, Mary Dietzel and Jack Dietzel; siblings, Albert Fiegel, Carl Fiegel, Patricia (Manuel) Garcia, Patrick Grenier, George (Kathy) Grenier, William (Marjorie) Grenier, Scott Grenier, Sandy (Jason) Gokey, Theresa (Kevin) Bandoli and John (Becki) Fiegel; brother and sister-law, Christine (Ray) Kleinbriel and Andrew (Kelly) Dietzel; 45 nieces and nephews and 43 great-nieces and nephews.

She was further preceded in death by her siblings, Randall Fiegel, Gregory Fiegel, James Fiegel, Rodger Grenier and Delores Ketterhagen.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family and will be given to a charity in Rita’s name.

The family would like to thank Drs. Bobustuc and Haider, the staff of the 12th floor at St. Luke’s, Zilber Hospice and Cross Lutheran Church for their care, love and prayers.

Services are Tuesday, Dec. 22, beginning at 7 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 S. Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, with the Rev. Viviane Thomas-Breitfeld officiating. Visitation for family and friends is Dec. 22 at the funeral home on Dec. 22, from 4-6:45 p.m. Burial will be private.
