REV. DR. KATHLEEN F. CONNOR

Easter Lily      Rev. Dr. Kathleen F. (French) Connor, 80, died unexpectedly on Wednesday May 20, 2015, of natural causes at her home in Brooksby Village in Peabody, Mass.

She was born in Orford, N.H., to the late Fred G. and Elizabeth (Wilson) French. She lived in Orford as a young girl, and also in Oxford, Mass., and Manchester, N.H., where she attended schools. She graduated from New England College in Henniker, N.H.

Later in life she studied in at the Chicago Theological Seminary in Chicago, where she earned a Masters and Doctorate degrees in Divinity to complete her formal education for her life vocation as an Ordained Minister with the United Church of Christ (UCC).

She went on to serve churches in several cities including Burlington, Maui, Hawaii, and locally with the West Gloucester Trinitarian Church and Saugus First Congregational Church UCC. Among her favorite ministries was ministering to children.

‘Kahu Kay’ was that rare shepherd whose spiritual compassion and concern for others transformed those she taught and ministered to throughout her life. She never compromised the basic values of family, friends, and faith and she will be missed dearly, especially her gentleness, smile, hugs, and her spirit of aloha.

She was the youngest child in her family of six siblings who preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter and two sons, Colleen Connor of Oakland, Calif., Michael Connor of Baltimore, Md., and Shawn Connor of Burlington. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor her life may be planned at a future date. Memorial donations may be made to either the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to one of her spiritual home of churches that she served at Plymouth Congregational Church, Burlington, WI 53105, Alameda Congregational Church, Alameda, CA 94501, or First Congregational Church, 508 Union St., Manchester, NH 03104.
