MARY A. BREUER

Easter Lily      Mary Ann Breuer, 89, Burlington, died Oct. 30, 2015, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was born June 6, 1926, to the late Edward and Lucy (Smitz) Toelle in Burlington. Her early life was spent in New Munster where she attended St. Alphonsus Grade School. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

On May 6, 1950, she married the late Richard Breuer at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, New Munster. Following their marriage, they resided in Burlington where they raised their family. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling and spending time up north at the cottage. More than anything she treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Bill (Liz) Breuer, Colorado, Tom (Linda) Breuer, Burlington; daughters, Kathy (Kirk) Boknevitz, Burlington, Anne (Norm) Sowinski, Franklin, Janet (Tom) Fell, Burlington, Patty (Gary) Hallett, Muskego; grandchildren, Justin and Tyler Breuer, David Breuer, Emily (Brad) LaBadie, Kent Breuer, Stacy (Nate) Wittenberg, Mark (Becky) Boknevitz, Katie (Ed) Hua, Christine Sowinski, Allie (Tyler) Malzahn, Brad Fell, Anna (Bevin) Dawson, Janey (Carter) Schmidt, Marie, Tim and Lena Hallett; great-grandchildren, Stella, John, Ryan, Parker, Andrew, Breck, Jude, Aela and Lennin; siblings, Chuck Toelle and Joan Breski; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her brother, Ray (Lorraine) Toelle, and brother-in-law, Paul Breski.

In honor of Mary Ann, memorials have been suggested to St. Mary’s Parish, St. Mary’s Grade School or Catholic Central High School.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors of Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington and to the Burlington Rescue Squad for their care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 6:30 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Volkert officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Nov. 3, from 3:30-5:45 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. A private burial will be held.
