MARCUS H. WIENKE

Easter Lily      Marcus H. Wienke, 80, Burlington, died Feb. 8, 2015, at Hospice House Alliance in Racine.

He was born in St. Croix County on Dec. 6, 1934, to the late Frank and Erna (Voeltz) Wienke. He spent his early life in Glenwood City where he attended school.

He was married to Corrine Thomas who preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 1983. On Aug. 3, 1985, he was united in marriage to Sharon D. Thomas. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Marcus worked for Ryder Trucking hauling cars. He loved fishing and watching the Packers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; children, Lorri (Steven) Baker, Thomas (Susan) Wienke; step-children, Teresa Young, Anne Young, Carolyn Van Tassel, Richard Young, Christina Cunningham and William Young; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jerod) Buss, Sarah (Isreal) Moran, Thomas Baker; step-grandchildren, Jessica McDonald, Amy Cunningham, Andrew Nybloom, Christa Nybloom, Adam Peterson, Ann Marie Sigmund, Samantha Van Tassel, Marcus Young and Lucas Young; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Brenda) Wienke; and one niece, Pamela.

The family would like to thank Dr. Raymond Knight, Dr. Jolanta Twardy, St. Catherine’s Hospital staff and Hospice House Alliance for their care and concern during this time.

The family is suggesting memorials go to Hospice House Alliance.

Services are Friday, Feb. 13, at noon at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rob Bolling officiating. Visitation is at the church on Feb. 13, from 10-11:45 a.m. Graveside services are held Saturday, Feb. 14, at noon at St. John’s Cemetery in Glenwood City. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
