MARCELLA A. WOHL

Easter Lily      Marcella A. Wohl, 94, Milwaukee, formerly Burlington, died Feb. 15, 2015, at Dominican Sisters St. Ann Rest Home in Milwaukee.

She was born in Chicago on July 18, 1920, to the late Carl and Anna (Meyer) Witte. She spent her early life in Chicago where she graduated from high school. Following high school she worked at the Union Train Station as an Information Clerk.

On June 26, 1954, she married Henry I. Wohl. Following marriage they made their home in Olympia, Wash., and Maryland before moving to Burlington in 1959 where they raised their family. Henry preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2004.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a devout Catholic and her faith and love of God brought strength and guidance to her throughout her life. She was a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis and enjoyed putting together banners for the school and church. She loved being a mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. She enjoyed sewing, painting and helping her husband with his soil lab in their home in Burlington. She liked to travel and one of her favorite places to go was Europe. Marcella’s faith and her family were the most important things in her life and she will be missed by all.

Survivors include her daughters, Maria (Lee) Thompson, Helenville, Christine (Edward) Chandler, Glendale; grandchildren, Lee and Christine Thompson, Rebecca, Marcella, Mary Elizabeth and Andrew Chandler; her brother, Carl (Marian) Witte; sister-in-law, Hilde (Julius) Adler; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be sent to St. Mary’s Parish in Burlington or Dominican Sisters St. Ann Rest Home, 2020 S. Muskego Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53204.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 21, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Yamid Blanco presiding. Friends and relatives may visit on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, from noon-1 p.m. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
