Kathy Schneider, 61, La Crosse, died peacefully Dec. 28, 2015, in her home with family. She was born in Burlington on Oct. 11, 1954, later moving to La Crosse where she started her teaching career of 35 years with the La Crosse School District. She was named Teacher of the Year at Central High School for the 2009-10 school year.
She was an active member in her church, St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral. She was also an avid supporter of the arts and enjoyed attending any performances she could, both locally and professionally. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Camie Schneider, La Crosse; brothers, Jim Schneider and Ken Schneider, both Burlington; sister, Ruth (Bruce) Frederick, Harvard, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Edith Schneider, and brother, Richard Schneider.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral, 530 Main St., La Crosse. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m., until time of Mass at church on Thursday.
