JOHN D. JANUESHESKE

Easter Lily      John David ‘Little John’ Januesheske, 81, one of Union Grove’s finest painters and handymen, died Oct. 7, 2015.

He was born in La Crosse on April 1, 1934. Given up for adoption at an early age, John was transported to Wisconsin Southern Center. As John grew up he learned several trades through on-the-job work experiences. Eventually, he had his own painting business.

Though he did not know his blood relatives, he is survived by a group of friends who loved him as much if not more than any blood relative. We want to thank you John for making so many buildings in and around the Union Grove community much better looking and for being such a good friend.

A graveside service was held on Oct. 10, at the Union Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Tichy officiated. Heritage Funeral Homes Johnson-Reiss-Klemmer-Scheuerell-Tyborski, Oak Creek, handled arrangements.

Many thanks and gratitude to the friends that attended John’s graveside service on Saturday, October 10th. What a tribute to our friend John; seeing community members come together to pay respects and honor his last wishes to be laid to rest in the Union Grove Cemetery. Your memorial contributions helped make this possible. There are definitely angels among us.

My family was John’s family and he will be dearly missed by all of us. We
will miss his stories and his laughter at our gatherings. We have a lot of memories to cherish because John was so good to us; always willing to help with projects on the farm or our homes. He was a bright man inspite of no formal education. He was a good man who lived a simple life and touched so many people in some way with his talents.
