JOANN R. KENNEDY

Easter Lily      Joann R. Kennedy, 81, Burlington, died July 11, 2015, at the Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa. She was born Jan. 8, 1934, to the late Lynn Thomas and Eva Lena (Hill) Smallridge in Barbour County, West Virginia. Her early life was spent in Philippi, W.V., where she graduated from High School.

On March 28, 1954, she married James Kennedy. In 1960 Joann moved to Wisconsin then in 1965 relocated to Burlington. She was formerly employed by Hi-Liter Graphics as a typesetter. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was an animal lover, especially cats, an avid Packer fan and was a stockholder in the Green Bay Packers. She was very strong in her faith and enjoyed music. More than anything she cherished her grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.

Survivors include her children, Mark (Karen) Kennedy, New Prague, Minn., Lisa Kennedy, Whitefish Bay, and Bridget Kennedy Krupp, Burlington; grandchildren, Megan Kennedy, Erin Kimla, Stefanie Kimla, Haley Krupp, Jena Krupp and Tyler Krupp; other relatives and friends.

The family has suggested memorials be made to the Humane Society of your choice.

Joann’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at the Zilber Family Hospice, for their care and compassion.

Funeral services are Wednesday, July 15, at 11 a.m., at Burlington United Methodist Church, 857 W. State St., with the Rev. Ebenezer Insor officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 14, from 4-7 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, and also on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m., at the church. Burial will follow service at Burlington Cemetery.
