JOAN D. SCHUMACHER

Easter Lily      Joan D. Schumacher, 75, died Oct. 2, 2015, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Franklin. She was born March 20, 1940, to the late Paul and Evelyn (Arnold) Gall. Her early life was spent in Bassett. She attended and graduated from Wilmot High School.

On June 8, 1963, she married the late Robert Schumacher at St. John’s Evangelical Catholic Church. Following marriage, they resided in Wheatland. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Stan’s Lumberyard for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, watching QVC and tending to her flowers. More than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who meant the world to her.

Survivors include her children, Alan (Mary) Schumacher, Eric (Jen) Schumacher; grandchildren, Nicole (Mike), Carlyn, Dani (Kyle), Derik (Sarah), Alex, Megan, Bobby, Joey, Matt and Andy; great-grandchildren, Cassi, Lucy, Maddox, Finn, and two more little ones on the way; her brother, Donald (Dee) Gall; Aunt Arlene Kerkman; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her Uncle Jim Kerkman.

In honor of Joan, the family has suggested memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 16655 W. Bluemound Road, #240, Brookfield, WI 53005.

The family sends a heartfelt thank you the nurses and doctors of the ICU at St. Luke’s Medical Center for their care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Twin Lakes, with Fr. Tom Biersack officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, Oct. 5, from 5-8 p.m., at the Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Burial will follow the service in Rochester Cemetery.
