Jerry L. Aagaard, 89, died Dec. 29, at St. Catherine’s Hospital, Pleasant Prairie. He was born Jan. 18, 1926, to the late Leif and Pearl (Sullivan) Aagaard in St. Louis, Mo.
His early life was spent in Arendal, Norway. He attended Fishburne Military School. After his service in the U.S. Army, he married the love of his life, Doris Hendershot in Evanston, Ill. Following marriage they resided in Wilmette, Ill. Doris died Oct. 11, 1994.
He had worked as a watchmaker at Lambrecht Jewelers in Wilmette. In 2002 he relocated to the Salem area. He was an avid HAM Radio operator, enjoyed golfing, skiing and tinkering in his garage. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him.
Survivors include his children, Dawn (Joe) Quagliano, Kevin (Sharon) Aagaard; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Anthony, April, Hope and Joseph Quagliano, Elizabeth Veith; great-grandchild, Lia Veith; his brother, Leif (Teresa) Aagaard; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Aagaard.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Grand Prairie Rehab and the Doctors and staff at Aurora Medical Center.
Per Jerry’s request, no services will be held. Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Union Grove, served the family.
