JEROME DEHAHN

Easter Lily      Jerome ‘Jerry’ DeHahn, 69, Kansasville, died unexpectedly, in Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015.

He was born in Racine on Aug. 21, 1946, to the late Robert and Julia (Czosnek) DeHahn.

He graduated from St. Stanislaus School and St. Catherine’s High School. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He had been employed by Racine Hydraulics-Rexnord-Bosch for over 38 years. He was the last one out when they closed the plant and turned out the lights. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Kansasville, and the American Legion Post 171 in Union Grove, where he served as the financial officer as well as a member of the honor guard.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Robert DeHahn, Jacksonville, Fla., Raymond DeHahn, Racine, Carol (Don) Larson, Columbus, Ohio, Patricia (Richard) Groothius, St. Charles, Mo., and Mary (David) Desotell, Racine; brother-in-law, Phil Strazzinski; and sister-in-law, Janice DeHahn, both Racine; 14 nieces; 15 nephews; other relatives; American Legion family; and friends.

He was further preceded in death by brother, Richard DeHahn; sister, Barbara Strazzinski; and sister-in-law, Diana DeHahn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Catholic Church, 23211 Church Road, Kansasville, on Thursday, Dec. 17, at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Kacalo officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorials to the American Legion Post 171 in Union Grove. Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, Racine, served the family.
