HARLAN ‘STEVE’ FRAHM

Easter Lily     Harlan ‘Steve’ Frahm, 84, died May 19, 2015, in Las Vegas. He was born in Bryant, S.D. He and his wife, Janet, moved from Burlington to Lake Havasu in 2002 after the sale of their business (Frahm Fireplace). Previously, Steve owned and operated Frahm Construction, which built many well-known structures in Burlington.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Army (Korean War) and member of the Honor Guard (Presidio) in San Francisco. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Fraternity of the Eagles. He loved fishing, golfing, flying, camping, baseball and football. He was an avid fisherman in Canada, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arizona and Florida. He loved to golf, but had trouble keeping score!

He was a pilot and member of the Burlington Flying Club and Kiwanis. He and his wife had a near fatal incident while flying from Minneapolis to Burlington. The entire ordeal was published in ‘Flying Magazine’ in the late 1960s.

He enjoyed many family trips to Florida, Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, Europe and many National Parks with the Halverson’s, their lifelong friends. He loved baseball and coached his son in Little League and Babe Ruth League. His Babe Ruth League team placed 2nd in the State Championship in Wisconsin. Steve was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Ella (Scheffelbein) Frahm; brother, Howard and sister, Lois.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Janet; sister, Margaret; son, Curt (Joyce) Frahm; daughter, Audrey Bottrell; grandchildren, Ryan (Phoebe) Bottrell and Amanda Bottrell; great-grandchildren, Adeline, Findley, Charlie and Amelia Bottrell and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be sent to New Hope Calvary Church in Desert Hills, Ariz., which will host a Celebration of Life Service was May 22.
