Elsie M. Clearmont, 96, Burlington, died Feb. 23, 2015, at Williams Bay Care Center.
She was born in Escanaba, Mich., on April 28, 1918, to the late Joseph and Regina (Chnard) Germain. She spent her early life in Escanaba where she attended school.
On April 25, 1942, she married Leslie T. Clearmont. Following marriage they made their home in Duluth, Escanaba, and Milwaukee before moving to Lyons in 1968. Leslie preceded her in death on March 1, 1976.
She was a very active person who loved staying busy. She worked at Jaeger Bakery, was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, participated in the Ukulele Band and the Burlington Senior Center. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Arlene (John) Kenney and Duane Clearmont; grandchildren, John Kenney, Jeanette (Darrell) Freerksen, Patty Kenney, Jacqueline Kenney and Louis (Lori) Kenney; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Cole Freerksen and Louis Jr., Gage and Paisley Kenney; sisters, Beatrice Daley and Myrtle Charles; sisters-in-law, Erla-Mae Clearmont and Rose Clearmont.
She was further preceded in death by her sons, Leslie and Jim, and grandsons, Michael and Thomas.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society are suggested.

Services are Saturday, Feb. 28, at 12:30 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Church, Lyons, with the Rev. Yamid Blanco presiding. Visitation is Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Burial will follow services at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
