DAVID E. CHAPMAN

Easter Lily      David E. ‘Ted’ Chapman, 84, Waterford, died Feb. 12, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Green Bay to the late Bruce Aldridge and Prudence Leninger. His family moved to East Troy where he graduated High School and then proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War.

On May 14, 1955, he married Evelyn M. Lancour who preceded him in death Oct. 22, 2008.

He was a truck driver most his working life, a member of English Settlement Church in Burlington, and also attended Northwest Bible Church in Elgin, Ill., and Community United Methodist Church in Waterford. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking in his shop. In his younger days he enjoyed water skiing. He was inspirational in building and helping build the Community United Methodist Church and also helped with maintaining the grounds of the church. He spent some time tending his roses and gardens of which he enjoyed.

Survivors include his children, David B. ‘Teddy’ Chapman, Waterford, and Dianna (David) Rickert, Elgin, Ill.; grandchildren, Quinn, Rebecca and Raquel Rickert; sisters, Dolores (Howard) Campbell, Stevens Point, and Sue (Doug) Cedarquist, Fresno, Calif.; brother-in-law, Gerald Schmidt, Elkhorn; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his sisters, Jacqueline Chambers, Marilyn Schmidt and Kathleen Barker.

Services are Sunday, Feb. 15, at 4 p.m., at Community United Methodist Church, 455 S. Jefferson St., Waterford. Visitation is 3-3:45 p.m., Sunday in church. Private burial will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy memorials to Community United Methodist Church, English Settlement Methodist Church or Northwest Bible Baptist Church are suggested. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
