ALICE M. KAYSER

Easter Lily      Alice Mary Kayser (named for both her grandmothers), 90, died Dec. 14, 2015. She was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Spring Prairie, to the late George and Anna Mae (Thornton) Kayser.

Her early life was spent in Spring Prairie and Burlington, with her family eventually settling in the Powers Lake area. She worked as a housekeeper for many years. She was a founding member of the Twin Lakes Calvary Congregational Church where she taught Sunday school for almost 50 years. She treasured each of her nieces and nephews and remembered them on birthdays, graduations and Christmas. She loved her church, the Milwaukee Brewers, black coffee and good chocolate (pretty much in that order).

Survivors include her sister, Helen Teegan, Lake Geneva; brother, George R. (Bunny) Kayser Sr., Greenfield; nephews, Larry D. Ranker, Kevin D. Ranker, Earl K. Ranker, Danny R. Teegan, Melvin I. Kayser, Jr., Joseph M. Kayser, Kenneth Albrecht, Wade Kayser, George Kayser Jr.; nieces, Bonnie Ranker Dashel, Deborah (Britta) Teegan Mattisse, Linda M. Kayser Hart, Judy Kayser Olson, Sherry Kayser Rich, Dawn Kayser Vanslow; great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

The oldest of seven children, She was further preceded in death by sisters, Ella B. Kayser and Shirley J. Ranker; brothers, Paul J. Kayser and Melvin I. Kayser Sr.; brothers-in-law, Earl E. Ranker and Oscar Teegan; nephew, Terry L. Ranker and great-nephew, Ryan Anderson.

The family would like to thank Alice’s dear friends Sue McCrae, Ethelyn Reynolds and Barb Reynolds for the many kindnesses they showed Alice as well as the many friends from church and otherwise who remembered her with cards and prayers.

A celebration of Alice’s life was Dec. 19, 2015, at Twin Lakes Calvary Church. The Rev. Judy Wang officiated. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, served the family.
