VONDELLE RAE BARNHILL

4'11'14 OBIT Barnhill, Vondelle webVondelle Rae Barnhill, 83, of the Town of Yorkville, went home to her Lord and Savior with her family by her side on April 6, 2014.

Vondelle was born Dec. 31, 1930, the daughter of the late William and Eleanor Noble Arvid. She was a graduate of Rochester Ag School. On May 20, 1950, she married Martin Lewis Barnhill Jr. who preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 2009.

She was a homemaker and a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished spending time with her loving family. Vondelle had a great interest in genealogy and spent much time researching her family and ancestors.

Vondelle is survived by her loving children: Martin Lewis III of East Troy, Kristie of Granby, Mo., Jeff (Aida) of Lake Stevens, Wash., Kirby Sr. (Joyce) of Potlatch, Idaho, Kim (David) Nelson of Darien, Jim (Lisa) of Sultan, Wash., and Nancy (McGee) Biker of New Berlin.

She is further survived by adored grandchildren: Arlene (Brian) Rehm, Lynn (Jordan) Houle, Kirby Jr. (Deann), Denica (Al) Kiser, Curtis, Autumn, Lane (Trisha), Caleb and Nathan, Alex (Cody) McCue and Samantha Blaeske; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Jaxson Kiser, Liam McCue, Amy Barnhill and one on the way.

She is also survived by her sister Ruthann (Joe) Vassh of Burlington; her brother, Lee (Joanne) Arvid of Florida; sister-in-law Jeanette Allen of Arizona, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Martin Lewis Jr., brother-in-law William “Bill” Barnhill and sister-in-law Patsy Barnhill.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, from 5-6:45 p.m. with services at 7 p.m. at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St. (Highway 20), Waterford.  Burial is at English Settlement Cemetery, Burlington (intersection of Highways A and J) on Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m.  Please meet at the cemetery.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy her family strongly suggests and would greatly appreciate memorials be made to either VCY America – Christian Radio or The Gideons International in memory of Vondelle.
