VICTOR J. YANNY

Victor Joseph ‘VJ’ Yanny, 93, Burlington, died Feb. 9, 2014. He was born Jan. 27, 1921, in Burlington, to the late John B. and Mary K. (Lois) Yanny. He spent his early life in Burlington and attended Lyons Grade School and St. Mary’s High School.

He lived in Delavan for 20 years before moving back to Burlington. He worked as a machinist with Borg Instruments in Delavan. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a previous member of the Moose Lodge in Harvard, Ill. He spent many years in the Coast Guard Reserve. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his long time partner, Anita M. Klug; daughters, Joan M. Smith and Janet L. Hancock, both Garden Valley, Texas; grandsons, Stephen G. Itzenhuiser and Nathan D. Hancock.

He was further preceded in death by his sister, Genevieve Yanny.

Funeral services are Feb. 13, at 11 a.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Larry Chapman will officiate. Visitation is Feb. 13, at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
