SALVATORE T. CASTROGIOVANNI

Easter Lily      Salvatore Thomas Castrogiovanni, 74, died at his home on June 29, 2014. He was born to the late Charles and Catherine (Cashman) Castrogiovanni on Dec. 9, 1940, in Chicago.

He was also known as Buddy, Bud, and Sam; was a 30-year employee of Miller Motors last working in May of this year. He enjoyed camping and meeting at McDonalds with friends in the morning, and being around people in general. He was known for being a jokester, and he will be dearly missed for the laughs and joy he brought to others.

Survivors include his special companion Gale Palmer; his children, Kristin Castrogiovanni, Catherine (Mike) Mason, Anthony Castrogiovanni, Salvatore Castrogiovanni Jr.; all Janesville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Nicola (Louis) DuPont, Jerome (Raynette) Castrogiovanni; and 11 nieces and nephews.

He was further preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Marie Castrogiovanni.

The family would like to thank Dr. Haider, the staff, and Aurora visiting nurses for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to Riverview Manor mailbox 225 at 580 Madison St., Burlington, which will be given to the Aurora Hospice.

There will be a memorial open house, where family and friends may visit on Saturday, July 5, from 1-3 p.m., to honor the life of Salvatore at Ray Seidel Community Center in Whitford Park, 730 N. River Road, Waterford.

  2. I loved Sam and always will. He was the best male friend I ever had. We had an awesome California vacation together where he got to see his brother and other family. He was a strong, independent, stubborn,frugal, funny, brave man and gave all he had of himself to others. Said he was going to haunt me, I am looking forward to it. May his soul forever be young as he was by heart…..
