ROBERT O. VOHS

Easter Lily      Robert O. Vohs, 91, Burlington, died Nov. 2, 2014, at Pine Brook Pointe.

He was born in Lyons, on April 21, 1923, to the late Otto and Anna (Schulz) Vohs. He had been a Rochester/Burlington resident his entire life graduating from Burlington High School.

On April 7, 1945, he married Joyce Bauman. They made their home in the Rochester/Burlington area where they raised their family.

He was a meat cutter for Sentry Foods for 37 years. He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, was on the St. John’s Board of Education, ushered, was involved with St. John OWLS and was a leader in Lutheran Pioneers. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and camping.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years; children, Paul (Carolyn) Vohs, Beloit, Doris Vohs, Forsyth, Mo., Carol (Wayne) Amborn, Burlington, Joan (Russ) Wagner, Appleton, Nancy Vohs, Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren with one due in January; sister-in-law, Carolee Vohs; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Amborn; brother, Herman Vohs; sister, Elizabeth Frank.

The family is asking that memorials be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Debt Retirement.

Services for Bob are Friday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Burlington. Visitation is at the church on Nov. 7, from noon to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Burlington Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
